Side Lounge
Side Lounge Island (87 L)
Designed for indoor use, this bin, designed and manufactured in Quebec, has a capacity of 87 litres per compartment.
MODULAR SYSTEM – The modular design of the Lateral Lounge allows it to evolve in line with the ongoing recycling program, by adding or grouping material categories. Each module is completely independent and can be attached to the others.
Each module has a front discharge, but materials are deposited through openings located on the top (opening options: slotted, round, square). A rubber rim around the opening makes the product more secure.
A glass module option (shown in the advertisement) is offered to create a custom island allowing you to have equipment that needs to remain visible without impacting the layout of your space, similar to the Lounge Lateral Security sorting island.
MATERIAL – The bin is constructed from sheet steel with 50% recycled content and is recyclable at the end of its life. The sheet steel is finished with electrostatic powder coating (baked-on paint) for durability. The bin uses 18-gauge steel, except for the bottom, which is 14-gauge. 87-liter (23 US gal) plastic liners are inserted into each compartment. 30″ x 38″ bags can be used inside each liner. The liners, which have a raised edge at the top, are made of plastic with 35% recycled content. Proper insertion into the compartment is facilitated by two guides attached to the bottom.
DIMENSIONS – The external dimensions of one module are 19-1/4'' (width) x 19-3/4'' (length) x 44-1/2'' (height).
FRONT DOOR – The opening on the front of each compartment is a 22″ 3/4 x 30″ 7/8 door. The positioning of the pivots allows the door to open fully.
The doors are held closed by magnets, and an optional lock prevents unauthorized access. A recessed handle makes opening the door easy.
CASTERS – The quiet 2″ diameter rubber casters allow the unit to be easily moved, even when filled with materials.
CLASP (optional) – A clasp is offered as an option, and it can be installed on all openings.
DISPLAY (optional) – For display, the use of 3M vinyl stickers with a Teflon finish allows for easy poster changes as needed. The adhesive used is suitable for metal and electrostatic paint, making the stickers just difficult enough to remove (preventing damage by users), while still allowing for removal should you wish to change them.
This type of sticker and adhesive has proven effective on the bins in the Montreal metro, where passengers might be tempted to tear off the sticker. Experience shows that removal is too difficult, which discourages malicious passengers while remaining manageable for the team responsible for replacing the signs.
Vinyl stickers are coated with Teflon to ensure their durability and prevent wear. The vinyl makes the stickers more resistant and easy to clean.
