It is entirely made from 11 gauge (3.20 mm) aluminum with a natural milled finish. It is both very lightweight and sturdy. The lightweight nature of aluminum facilitates the installation and handling of the roof hatch. Aluminum is also a non-corrosive and highly durable material.
